Banana & Nut Butter
Breakfast inspiration more than a recipe here.
This morning I used my homemade cashew and almond nut butter, sliced on some banana for the photograph's sake, I usually mush half a banana chunk on to the each slice with a fork, nice and fast but your eyes deserve a little bit more today. Scatter some chia seeds over the top and there you have it.
NUTRITIONAL OVERVIEW
The combination of protein and fibre in this dish will help you feel full for longer
Most of us are aware that BANANAS are a source of potassium which helps us break down and use carbohydrates, build muscle and maintain a healthy water balance. But they're also a good source of vitamin B6 which helps the body make serotonin - happiness in a yellow skin!
CHIA SEEDS are very high in dietary fibre and also manganese which is essential for metabolism, growth and development.
NUT BUTTER'S are fantastic if they're not prepared with sugar or a lot of salt. Depending on what nuts are used you'll usually be getting a good source of protein and healthy fats, the nutrients specific to the nuts used but also you should stay feeling full as nuts provide a nice steady release of energy and taste a bit like a treat!
